Digital Government Research Center:
One of the nation's leading centers researching the growing nexus of public policy and practice and IT systems and innovation. DGRC is a partnership
between USC's Information Sciences Institute and Columbia University's Department of Computer
Sciences. The center is engaged in active research and fostering collaboration in the Digital Government Community, and hosts the annual National Conference on Digital Government Research.
USC Center for Computer Systems Security
CCSS provides focus for work at USC on improving the security of computer systems, networks, and applications. It accomplished this by encouraging the
development, adoption, evaluation, and integration of security technologies with applications and core network and operating system services. The center
promotes the understanding and integration of security policy management and enforcement technologies for distributed systems; it conducts research in
technologies supporting personal privacy, computer and network intrusion detectionand response, and survivability of critical infrastructure. The center
provides a focal point for education at USC in theory and technology for computer security.
Center for Grid Technologies
CGT's goal is tofoster a collaborative, multi-disciplinary research environment dedicated to the development, application and dissemination of advanced
Grid infrastructure and applications. Grids are an emerging computational paradigm in which community based problem solving is facilitated by the
cross-organizational sharing of diverse, distributed resources such as scientific instruments, displays, computational servers and data collections.
