About CRUE

The Center for Research on Unexpected Events was founded in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks to research responses to and planning for unexpected events. The research at the center focuses on low-probability, high-impact events within dynamic human environments that have profound system-wide effects, and affect many agencies, organizations, sytems, technologies, resources and people.

We are a part of the Information Sciences Institute of the University of Southern California, located in Marina del Rey, California.
